Winter Fun

One of the most amazing things about trout fishing in the Ozarks is that we have true year round fisheries. Guiding slows down a bit but the bite certainly doesn't. The past week I have gotten to fish several days alone and got in some good aqua therapy. Today I took the opportunity to fish for awhile with my dad and an old family friend, Bill. Fishing was good and we caught lots of fish...My dad spotted this hog and being the great guy that he is, called me down river to catch it! I hooked her on a size 20 midge with my favorite 4wt...what an awesome day...27 inches of pure love! Life is good!

The Eddie Man

Today I got to take my good buddy Ed and his friend Dean out...The weather was actually quite bearable and the sun was shining. It took us a minute to get into our groove, but once we did it was on! We mixed the day up with wading and drifting and killed it! Last year Eddie had caught his biggest rainbow to date with me and today he changed that! He crushed this beauty on a 4wt on a sweet drop off! WOW! It was such a great day to be fishing on the Little Red River!

David Townsend

Yesterday afternoon I had the pleasure of fishing with David Townsend. It was the first time I had ever fished with David and it was lights out! We started off fishing the deep water and caught a few fish. It didn't take long for me to figure out he had a good rod on him, so we got out of the boat and started picking off some nicer fish on midges! It shaped up to be an awesome evening on the water with a couple of nice brownies and of course, a great one that got away! There's always next time!

The Stone Man

Over the weekend, Jamie, Kristopher, and I ran a group trip on the White River...The generation was all out of whack and jumping up from high to low...The first morning fishing was hot for us! Stone landed this 24 incher before lunch. Over the next few days we caught several other nice fish but this one certainly took the cake! Over all, it was a great trip with the boys chucking big bugs up on the White River!

More Brown Action!

Yesterday, Amy and I decided to get back out on the shoal and do some more fishing...We had a few hours of baby sitter time and it was well worth it. We also got to fish with my pops a bit, but I didn't get any photos of him. All three of us killed it. It was back to back brownie action! Amy probably caught 25 or 30 nice browns! What an awesome experience it was for everyone!

Amy's first brown

Yesterday evening I got the chance to go fishing for a while with Amy..She has caught everything from 8 pound rainbows to 9 pound Hybrids, but She still hadn't caught and landed a brown trout. Yesterday evening her tables turned and she caught 7! They were all in the 16-18 inch range. As always, it's so much fun to share my passion with the ones I love! It was really cool seeing her kick those browns in the tail...

Eddie Time

Thursday and Friday I got to fish with Eddie. Over time, Eddie has caught a bunch of fish with me as well as some real dandy's. The past few days he boated around a 100 fish. The weather had been kinda hairy all week and it was off and on for us. The water got a little off color but the fish didn't seem to mind. We played with some midges on his bamboo rod "Bambie" and broke in a new Helios..This was a nice brownie he caught yesterday before the storm blew us off the river!
