Cole-A-Thon

Friday Morning was the start to what is known around these parts as a COLE-A-THON. A great client of mine Roger, has his family and friends up and we go chasing trout several times a year. This year Jamie and I both took groups out. Roger and Tip fished with me Friday morning and they absolutely crushed them! They caught and released 50 fish by noon!

Saturday morning I took out Fox and his dad, Mike. Fox is in the third grade and he wore them out! Mike did well too, but Fox had them dialed in for sure! The bite was consistent and everybody had fun! That afternoon, I took Tip Cole and Brad. Brad had never held a fly rod before and caught on quick! As the afternoon progressed more and more, traffic got on the water and our bite slowed down but we still boated some good rainbows!

Saturday morning I took Andrew and Lauren fishing. Neither of them had ever done any real fly fishing. Lauren caught the first fish and was fired up about it! She caught a few more and then just sat back and enjoyed the surroundings. Andrew on the other hand was hooked! He caught on quick and was catching fish left and right!

Saturday afternoon I took Ed and Billy Patterson. Ed fished with me last year for about two hours when we had two generators on full bore. It was tough fishing. This year he killed em'. He probably caught 15 or so nice rainbows! It was Billy's first time to fly fish for trout. He had a few spinning rod habits we had to break but once he got dialed in,he caught some nice fish as well. The weekend was alot of fun for everyone. The fishing was good. The food Roger and Tip grilled was awesome! The weather was even better... Life is good on the Little Red River!
